Safety First

Why safe, in-person school is so important

The benefits of in-person school are much greater than the risks in almost every way. Schools are safe, stimulating, and enriching places to be while parents or guardians are working.

Children and adolescents receive more than just academics. They also learn social and emotional skills, get exercise, and have access to mental health and other support services. For many families, schools are where kids get healthy meals, access to the internet, and other vital services.

School closures were especially hard for children with disabilities, children living in poverty, and children who are Black, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaska Native.

Boarding at Crown Grammar School

'A Home Away From Home'

Boarding at Crown Grammar School is a great way to take advantage of all that the school has to offer, both from an academic point of view as well as the numerous clubs and activities on offer after school day. The environment at the school motivates and inspires students to discover more and the world around them, and evolve into leaders of tomorrow, in the community and a broader global context. The Village has instituted a 'Code of Conduct' with clearly defined parameters that stimulates students to assume a responsible role in the boarding community.

Boarding Facilities

Students must be physically fit to derive the best out of the education imparted in the school. Since this is primarily a residential school and participation in all activities is compulsory, parents may be asked to withdraw the child if the child is not keeping fit. Any expenditure incurred on the child's health care is billed to the parent separately.

Boarding House Menu

Food, Glorious Food

You don’t need us to tell you that good food is important. And when you’re busy with school and your extracurricular activities, the last thing you’ll want to think about is “What’s for dinner?” Don’t worry – we have that covered with a nutritious, balanced diet.

As a boarding student, you will be served three balanced meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as snacks during the day. On Sundays, boarders get a special brunch (a late breakfast/early lunch). All meals are served in the dining hall, which is just steps from your boarding house.

We believe it is important to offer a balanced nutritious diet for all boarders, day students and special events.

Crown Grammar School is committed to providing healthier meal choices for students.  Fresh Made healthy menus are provided to support students in getting the best balanced diet that will help them not only in meeting their educational needs but their sporting needs also.
